(st)ill Life

70cmx50cm
Acrylic on canvasboard
Last few months i was off the radar, sitting in my little room working on new paintings, focusing on the work and not so much in taking pictures and posting them, i know i´m a lazy blogger but, here you have it, "the newest-latest" like my man radio raheem said. Starting off with this stilllife, an old painting discipline i gave a new, very personal touch.

Elvis

"Elvis" 2009
Acrylic on canvas, 70x100 cm
Although it´s not my thing, I did this for a gypsy-festival in my hometown, because the sinti, the german-based gypsies, adore elvis and love his music very much.

"Jordan red" 2008
Acrylic on canvas, 30x90cm

Acrylic on canvas, 30x90cm
This paintings belong to the jordan series i did because he is the G.O.A.T
P.S.: The fake autograph of MJ is not intended to be a fraud, it´s more like a wishful thinking, i liked the idea of giving the paintings a kind of "sports collectible-flavor"

Christo de las angustias

Acrylic on canvasboard, 50x70cm

I did that from an old photograph i had, on which you see the head of the wooden statue "Virgen de las angustias" from Cordoba, Spain. This statue was made in the 16th century and displays the wheeping mother of god, in her darkest hour, holding the dead body of christ in her arms. It belongs to an old religious brotherhood, whose members carry this beautiful(but heavy) piece of art through the streets of Cordoba on their shoulders and bare feet on semana santa. Many of my ancestors, uncles and cousins belong to this brotherhood.
